Former President Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a shooting on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

The commander-in-chief explained he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president told the press. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Mourners gathered over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.

“Sarah was the type of pupil that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, told the Associated Press. “She was caring, caring and always willing to support those in need.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of homicide and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The incident led the Trump administration to halt asylum processing and temporarily stop granting visas to possessors of travel documents.

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the news agency.
