This return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement across the community. From the gradual unveiling of fresh additions before the title's launch, to trainers developing firm views on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to anticipate.

With many of the Mega Evolutions boasting distinctive appearances that highlight their personalities, one thought came to mind: How can connect this with astrology? The following is based on a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.

Aries – Mega Camerupt

Honestly, Houndoom was nearly selected for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and astrological sign that inspire the most fear. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as always furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, known for being fun, cheerful, and impulsive. This makes Aries much more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Stay on the good side of either and benefit from a strong partner; should you offend them, prepare to get burned.

Taurus – Mega Heracross

Similar to a devoted Bull, the reliable Heracross, both in its standard and Super Form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, each the Pokémon and a Bull are still Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a firm belief – will defend their position to the end. Leo – Mega Starmie

Well, did you assume I was planning to select Pyroar for the lion of the stars? Aside from the reality that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose legs just went viral for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Lion offers to the scene. Starmie is also said to be transmitting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be putting on a show, even if for extraterrestrials.

Virgo – Super Victreebel

The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Maiden is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The sign known for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored across this creature's entire evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you lack a 401(k), to its inverted visage that’s just like the emoji a Maiden sends to the chatroom when all says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than creating a strategy.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Observe this sweet, empathetic being, who employs the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how people are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to keep the harmony, there are many Libras who would probably benefit from Super Audino's skills. However, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry even more about everyone else.

The Scorpion – Super Banette

This Ghost-type is a creature with a unexpectedly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a doll, it became consciousness through pure hatred and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That sounds precisely like many conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Mega Banette.

The Archer – Super Hawlucha

Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always staging a performance. Being a Archer myself, the number of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful small entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “flexes to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Archer counterpart I can imagine.

The Goat – Mega Absol

Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the exact same energy as a Capricorn, who often consistently believe they’re right. The thing is, similar to a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are.
