The network's Top Fresh Series of This Year Gets a Significant Renewal for Two More Seasons.
Last October, Adult Swim debuted a new season of its unconventional hit, Smiling Friends. But, shortly thereafter, the network introduced a brand-new animated series with a markedly softer tone. Haha, You Clowns emerged as heartwarming and calm, evoking a animated take of a contemplative talk show. During a period often characterized by bleakness, this show's sincerity found an audience and turned it into a breakout hit.
A Major Commitment
On December 18th, the network revealed exciting news: Haha, You Clowns has been renewed for a further two seasons. This offers showrunner Joe Cappa a massive runway to expand upon the world of the Campbell family. The series follows three polite teenage brothers whose central trait is their deep love for their widowed father, with Cappa portraying for all four key characters.

Previously, creator Joe Cappa shared his desire to move the comedy genre beyond its prevailing layer of irony. He traced this trend to various cultural shifts.
“We're stuck in a cycle of irony that we are trapped in,” explained Cappa. “The attitude is that we have to know we’re the smartest person in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for a decade, and we just have to laugh at something different now. The genre needs to change.”

Now, with Haha, You Clowns set to continue, Cappa has the opportunity to help usher in that comedic shift. If nothing else, the renewal promises audiences more opportunities to experience the heartfelt moments of the beloved Campbell clan.
