Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
A jet ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an announcement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet touched down following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, among them Pete Hegseth, is secure," an official representative commented in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence does not mark the first occasion that a American defense plane transporting a high-ranking official has suffered mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to head back to Washington after encountering a technical issue.
