More than 50 lone young refugees who disappeared soon after coming the UK and while in the care of the authorities are yet to be found, according to data obtained.

Numerous of the missing children entered in small boats or concealed in the cargo areas of vehicles and are believed to have been abducted by smugglers. This region is frequently the place where they first land.

Government Figures Indicates Disturbing Totals

Disclosed records has registered 345 children going missing from their area, with 56 of those yet to be located.

From 2021 and 2023, when designated facilities for children operated along with similar establishments in various locations, 132 children disappeared from these facilities. Among them, 108 were eventually recovered but 24 are yet to be found.

Between 2020 and August 2025, 213 children disappeared from care facilities for this group, with 182 located and 32 remaining vanished.

Ethnic Composition of Vanished Minors

In each instance, youths of Albanian origin were the biggest contingent to vanish, accounting for a full half the total from the hotels, 68, and over 25% from the reception centres, 65.
